Gray-New Gloucester Middle School February 7th, 2007
Gray, ME
Tamra will be speaking to grades 4 - 6. She'll read The Three Grumpies, discuss where ideas come from, show the steps from manuscript to book and do a writing exercise.

POLAND COMMUNITY SCHOOL     January 24th, 31th and March 7th 2007
Poland, ME
Tamra will be meeting with the Gifted and Talented sixth graders once again this year! We'll focus on revisions and critique groups, and why they're important. The students will be creating manuscripts to submit to kid friendly publications.

MADISON AVENUE SCHOOL November 13th, 2006
Oxford, ME January 9th, 2007

Tamra will be speaking to the Author's Club after school program. They have 25 kids signed up! The subject matter in the first visit will be to show the steps from idea to published book, with a heavy emphasis on idea gathering and developing. We'll have a writing experiment as well.

In the second visit, Tamra will talk about the importance of revision and how to give your peers a well balanced critique. We'll break into groups and critique each others work in preparation for creating their final copy.

The Author's Club plans to publish their illustrated stories and read them personally to preschoolers!

Tamra will be visiting the Kindergarten classrooms four afternoons in March. She'll read The Three Grumpies, show the steps from manuscript to book and do a writing exercise.

They'll also perform a dramatic reading of The Three Grumpies! Tamra can't wait!

Tamra will be meeting with the Gifted and Talented fifth graders to show the steps from manuscript to book and do a writing exercise. We will be focusing mainly on critique groups; how they work, why they're necessary and how they can help improve your writing.

GRAFTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL   January 9th, 2006
Grafton, MA
Tamra will be speaking to grades K - 2. She'll read The Three Grumpies, discuss where ideas come from, show the steps from manuscript to book and do a writing exercise.

THE BOOK BURROW   December 10th, 2005   1-3pm
Auburn, ME
Tamra will read The Three Grumpies and sign harcover or paperback copies. She'll have samples of her book in various stages from idea to published form, and welcomes any and all questions on them.

RAYMOND LIBRARY                                March 9th, 2005    7pm
                              Raymond, ME
   Tamra will read The Three Grumpies. She'll  talk about the writing process and show the book in various stages from it's initial idea up to the final product, including illustrations by Ross Collins.  Question and Answer session to follow.
Tamra will sell copies of The Three Grumpies and hand out souveniers for the kids.

POLAND REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL - 10th grade
              December 2, 3, 4th                       11:30 - 2:00pm
      Speaking to the sophmore class about writing techniques, idea making, the importance of revision, to plot or not to plot, and the benefits of critique groups.

                     Great Falls Plaza, Auburn, ME
     Tamra will be reading The Three Grumpies at 2:00pm. She'll be available to sign books and answer questions.   Kids can make their own Grumpy faces and take home coloring pages, pencils and stickers.

NEW LONDON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL- NH April Fool's Day! 2004
Tamra is bringing The Three Grumpies to grades 1 through 4 for a visit! She'll speak about life as an author and write stories with the students.

MORGAN HILL BOOKSTORE, New London, NH    April 1st: 3pm - 4:30pm
         Tamra will be on hand to talk about her writing and to sign copies of
The Three Grumpies. Balloons, coloring pages, pencils and more for the kids to take home as souveniers.  Fun for the whole family!

BOOKLOVERS GOURMET- Bookstore and Cafe        March 13th, 2004 1 -3pm

         Tamra will be on hand to make Grumpy faces with the kids, read from
The Three Grumpies, and sign copies of her book. Coloring pages, pencils and more for the kids to take home as souveniers. Everyone is welcome!

CHARLTON MIDDLE SCHOOL March 12th, 2004
Tamra goes back to her hometown of Charlton to speak with 5th graders, and "bag-lunch it" with six graders. This is a real treat! We'll discuss life as a writer, and complete some writing exercises.

BORDERS, S. Portland, ME (next to Portland Mall) Feb 20th, 2004 @ 7pm
A booksigning at family fun night! Tamra will be on hand to answer questions about The Three Grumpies and sign copies. Kids can make their own Grumpy faces and take home coloring pages, pencils and stickers.

NORWAY MEMORIAL LIBRARY, ME Feb 14th, 2004 10:30 - 11:30
Tamra will read from The Three Grumpies and explain where the idea came from. She'll talk about the process from the manscript and the illustrations of Ross Collins, up to the final product. Souveniers of the event to be handed out at the end.

CHARLTON LIBRARY - Charlton, MA November 26th, 2003 6:30pm
Charlton Native, Tamra Wight, will be on hand to read and sign copies of The Three Grumpies. Kids can make their own Grumpy faces and choose souveniers to take home. A portion of the books sales to benefit the Charlton Public Library Building Fund.
